Growing the Canadian Aquaculture Workforce of the Future

Aquaculture is an important economic driver and employer in communities across Canada. With a growing demand for people in long-term sustainable positions, the time is right to be a part of an innovative industry that helps feed the world.

Canada’s Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University is partnering with the Canadian Agricultural Human Resource Council to develop and deliver a suite of training courses for new entrants, career changers and current aquaculture professionals.

  • Four certificates available
  • All courses fully funded
  • Courses available in English and French
  • In-person classes across Canada or study online anytime, at your own pace, in your own place

Each course provides skills to work in the aquaculture industry. Individuals can take one course as a certificate of achievement or complete all courses to receive the certificate.

Canadian aquaculture companies can request customized training programs for new entrants and current employees by contacting the Marine Institute at aquaculture@mi.mun.ca.

These training programs are available to those who are legally entitled to work in Canada.
