This program is designed to meet the needs and challenges of the aquaculture industry in Newfoundland and Labrador as it continues to grow. This program provides aquaculture farm managers with the necessary skills to effectively manage the day-to-day operations of an aquaculture operation. The courses span a wide range of aquaculture management skills and include topics as diverse as human resources, project management, farm management, communications and regulations and policy.

 
Program Structure

This program is offered online, and includes two required courses and two elective courses, out of a possible five elective choices.

 
What You'll Need

Applicants should possess the equivalent of a minimum grade twelve education and industry experience acceptable to the admissions committee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to do the whole certificate if I am interested in only some courses?
No. You may register for only specific courses, or you may wish to work towards completing the entire Technical Certificate - Aquaculture Management program.

Can I do these courses in or near my community?
Training will be offered online to accommodate existing farm managers' schedules and offer flexibility for working professionals.
