Distance Students
The Memorial University Writing Centre offers an online service for distance students who reside outside the greater St. John's area. (Outside of the greater St. John's area is defined as an hour or more outside of St. John's).
Marine Institute students who reside in the greater St. John's area are asked to use our in-person service located in the Dr. C.R. Barrett Library.
For distance students, our online service is available for students to ask writing-related questions and submit documents for tutoring. Tutors work with online paper submissions much as they do with in-person tutorials by providing feedback on the assignment and making suggestions on ways to improve student writing.
Please be aware, as with in-person tutorials, tutors do not edit student work; rather they focus on helping students become better writers and self-editors.
