Satellite tags revealing cod behaviour
Tuesday, June 11, 2013

Scientists at the Marine Institute's Centre for Fisheries Ecosystems Research (CFER) are benefitting from tagging cod over the past two years in the offshore Bonavista Corridor with 'pop-up satellite tags' that automatically release themselves after being attached to the fish for one year. This is part of CFER's study to discover more information about cod movement in Newfoundland waters.

The centre was recently profiled in Harbour Breton's newspaper, The Coaster. Read the full article on The Coaster website.
