Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland

The majority of Marine Institute locations will reopen for normal operating hours on Thursday, Jan. 9, for all students, faculty and staff.

The Marine Institute’s Regional Fisheries and Marine Centre in Lewisporte will remain closed until Monday, Jan. 13.

All classes (unless otherwise noted on the cancellation page) will resume as scheduled and students are advised that the regular Thursday academic schedule is in effect.

Supplementary, Deferred, and Challenge Exams  for the Fall Semester are postponed until January 13th and 14th. The deadline to apply is extended to Thursday January 9th.

The revised schedule for training at the OSSC this week is now as follows:

• Advance Firefighting STCW95, the 5 day BST and Fast Rescue Boat training...are cancelled for this week.  Students will be contacted by OSSC administration later this week to be rescheduled.
• BST-R students scheduled January 6-7 are now scheduled for Thursday & Friday January 9-10. The Jan 9-10 class will proceed as scheduled
• Confined Space Technical Rescue is cancelled and students have been rescheduled to next week.
• H2S Alive will begin Thursday January 9 at 0900
• OSI will go ahead Friday Jan 10 at 0800 and HUET will go ahead Friday Jan 10 at 1030
• CSE-CAPP will continue on Friday as scheduled
