Michaela Barnes, a student in the MI’s joint diploma/bachelor of technology in ocean mapping program, received the 2019 Memorial University Award for Outstanding Self-directed Learning. Ms. Barnes set out to determine which central Newfoundland lake was deepest – Gander Lake or Grand Lake. Read about her project and the award in the Gazette.
